So Much (For) Stardust (abbreviated as SMFS) is the eighth major label studio album by American rock band Fall Out Boy. It was released on March 24, 2023, through DCD2, Elektra and Fueled by Ramen.

Background[]

On December 25, 2022, Fall Out Boy uploaded a video titled "A Claymation Fall Out Boy Celebration", hinting at new music.[3]

On January 11, 2023, Oli Sykes, the lead singer of Bring Me the Horizon, revealed he'd been sent a package by Fall Out Boy. The package contained a pink seashell, labeled 1 of 13, along with a piece of paper with the phrase "Love from the Other Side" on it.[4] The band placed a total of nine other packages containing the same format of Sykes' around the world as a way of revealing song titles.

On January 12, they announced that “Love from the Other Side” would be released on January 18.[5] On January 18, the band announced the title and release date of their eighth studio album.[6] On January 23, they announced that "Heartbreak Feels So Good" would be released on January 25.[7]

On March 3, Fall Out Boy revealed the album's track listing.[8] On June 28, following the release of "We Didn't Start the Fire", the song became a bonus track on the album via streaming services.

Fall Out Boy announced the So Much For (Tour) Dust in January 2023, touring North America and Europe, with more dates in Australia and Asia announced later. The tour began on June 21, 2023 and ended on December 12, 2023.

Fall Out Boy announced a second North America leg, the So Much For (2our) Dust, in September 2023. Dates in China were announced in April 2024. The tour began on February 28, 2024 and ended on May 11, 2024.
